REVIEW: Makeup For Ever Waterproof Brow Corrector

Hello!

I've been growing out my eyebrows for about 5 long months now due to my eyebrow mishap. And just 2 months ago, I had another one. Great. So a chunk of my eyebrow went missing and I turned to my MUFE Waterproof Brow Corrector!

I have mine in shade 3.

In the tube, it looks as if it is a very dark brown color, but may vary depending on how it is applied.

How do I apply it?

I find that the smallest drop (about the size of the tip of a ball point pen) is a sufficient amount of product to use for both of my brows. 

Is it really waterproof?

Yep. I forgot to wipe off my eyebrows before rinsing my skin with water and they were still on. I tested it on my hand, too. With minimal rubbing, the product slightly faded, but did not wipe off completely. I'm out and about for long periods of time (12-13 hours straight) and I find that this has been the only product that I've used that has not only lasted a whole day, but still looked good by the time I took my makeup off. It doesn't look the same as when I freshly applied it, but just as great.

To make it last even longer?

I sometimes like to apply an eye primer over my brows (it typically stays fuss-free or about 8 hours, primer or not), then I apply MUF's Brow Corrector, and lastly, my eyebrow powder to finish it off.

Overall:

10/10

It's small and portable, but not exactly "travel friendly" as you would have to use some sort of brush to apply the product. But quite versatile in terms of application; You can easily achieve a lighter, natural looking brow or a more defined look depending upon how you apply the product. 

If you live in an area that typically gets very hot or humid, this product should hold up pretty well to your weather conditions.

Bare Minerals Matte Foundation Review

I first came across Bare Escentuals during my weekly sneaky trip to my mom's cosmetic drawer. Those were my pre-scarrednastyugly skin days, when anything I slapped onto my face essentially did nothing for me since there was nothing to cover up. After a couple of years, I started using the original formula to cover up some redness and acne scarring, and I really loved the formulation. It was a creamy, smooth, light-feeling powder that pretty much melted over my skin and got the job done, the right way. No cakey-ness, melting, nada. It lasted through my long, 12 hour day without coming all the way off of my face. But I really didn't like having any sort of "sparkle" or shimmer on my face, so a couple of months ago, I purchased the bareMinerals Matte formulation. It retails for $28 US, $3 more than the original. After using it consistently for the past 4 months, I have decided that I will not repurchase this foundation. It just didn't live up to my expectations and didn't provide me with the results the original formulation had.
I find this foundation to be:

• Light- medium coverage
• Thick/"cakey" looking
• Harder to blend

I don't like the fact that I have to apply layers of a product to get the coverage I want/need, for any product, not just this one. It lasts just as long as the original formulation, but I feel that it doesn't apply as smoothly and blend in as well as it's predecessor.  The light to medium coverage that it offers makes me want to apply a bit more, which when using mineral foundation, isn't a lot because I usually apply this in small amounts. But even my first layer looks like it just sits on top of my skin, not even blending in. So as I add on a few more "layers", the more thick and "cakey" it appears. BUT I do have to say, it does look GREAT after a bit of wear throughout the day. I had this on during my 4 mile run, and it looked perfect. My skin looked luminous, almost, and I wished that it looked the way it did when I first applied it earlier that morning. Anything that your skin secretes or maybe a bit of humidity, makes this work a bit, I think it cancels out the thick look in a way. But who actually wants to wait throughout the day to have that smooth, clean, canvas of a face?

Verdict?

It's not a terrible foundation, it just didn't live up to my expectations. I personally wouldn't pay the extra money for it again, but for those of you who aren't looking for a lot of coverage and a matte finish, I'd try this one out.

Money is money, and I've had this for waaaaay too long to be able to return it. So...
To make this work, I apply my primer, a thicker moisturizer, and a sunblock/sunscreen that sets a bit more oily. I then wait for about 10 minutes until the sunscreen has set into my skin for a bit and then apply the foundation using a duo fibre brush. I find that this brush applies the product in smaller amounts and gives me a better application overall.


If anyone is actually reading this, (lol) please please please let me know what you think! What works for you, what doesn't and any other product suggestions would be great. :D

REVIEW: Hard Candy Glamoflage Concealer

I came across this product a couple of months ago and being on my drugstore concealer hunt, I figured that I'd give this a try.

So glad that I did.

This stuff is great; It reminds me of my trusty MAC Studio Finish Concealer (I'm an NC 35, got this product in the shade "Tan") coverage wise despite the different consistency. The Glamoflage concealer has more of a liquidy consistency, but leans more on the thicker side and in that case, would best be suited for covering discoloration and acne scarring, not for use underneath the eyes because it would accentuate any fine lines or wrinkles because of it's thickness. Can look a bit cakey, but I avoid that by applying it with a small blending brush which saves a lot of product but still gives a nice effect. It's very pigmented and gives just great color payoff. You also get a lot of product in the tube: 20g or 0.71 oz for $6. The downside to this is that there are only 3 shades out: Light, Medium, and Tan. Tan would be best for those at around an NC 35 skin tone <--MAC reference because so many people use MAC. I had to wait until I got a lot lighter to be able to use this because I was too tan over the summer. So for my tan/dark skinned ladies out there, sorry, you're gonna have to miss out on this one.

DAISO: Brow Powder and Pencil

Alrighty, so here are the brow pencils and the brow powder that I got from Daiso. I've been looking for something new to use on my brows ever since my unknown name brand yet amazing asian eyebrow pencil disappeared. I tried out the Rimmel brow pencil, Maybelline Expert Wear Duo Pencil, and I've been trying to find the Maybelline Define-a-Brow these past few weeks but almost all of the Targets, Wal-Marts, Rite-Aids, etc etc ARE OUT. It's pretty ridiculous. Do they know how much gas costs nowadays?! Uggggh. Anyways! So I saw these babies and had to get them. I remember watching a video on YouTube about some of these and read some pretty good comments about them, so I decided to pick up 3 pencils and 1 eyebrow powder.

Me likey. :)

I'd say I like the powder a lot more since it looks a bit more natural and easier to blend, but the pencil is good, too.

I wish the powder was a bit lighter or more cool toned but it seems to work out alright with my hair color. The gray tone of the pencil is on point though, but it's not as creamy as I'd like it to be. Maybe it's just really cold where I live and made it harden a bit...?

But either way, I like both of these and if you're a dark haired girl in search of a cheap eyebrow product to use, check these out (if you have a Daiso in your area).

Perfume Atomizers from Daiso

I picked up two of the many offered, mainly because of the packaging. I got a bit picky, haha

I got a 5 mL bottle and a 12 mL bottle.

They both have little glass (i'm not sure if it's glass, but feels like it) bottles and a spray on top.

They spray nozzle thing works really well, especially on the 12 mL bottle. The 12 mL bottle (one with the silver casing) is very travel friendly. You can pull off the silver casing and you have the regular bottle so you can fill it up with your perfume, cologne, etc. I'm probably going to put one in my bag and another in my luggage for when I go traveling. From what I saw, they have a mini size of the 12 mL bottle (comes in dark red, dark blue, silver, pink, and black) but I didn't like the bedazzled heart on it. They didn't "bling-ify" it enough for me, lol I was going to get it and then remove the little sparklecrystal things, or add some more all over it, but I just decided to go with the nice plain one. Both $1.50, which makes me regret buying the little one because I spent just as much on that when I could've gotten a bigger size (more for your money, duhhhhh! Ugh! me and my decision making skills! -___- ) But I still like them both; they're really great for carrying around and I would definitely buy more of them.

A lot cheaper than the perfume atomizer some YT gurus were talking about!

Took a trip to the mall with the family today! Found ANOTHER Daiso store, which got me really excited.

For those of you who aren't familiar with Daiso (or Saizen in other countries) it's basically this big ol' Japanese houseware/ placethathaserrythang. Kind of like your regular 99 cent store except everything is $1.50 and up. The goods they sell can range from the useful, odd, and just random, and if you can't read in Japanese, have fun guessing at what some of the products are. :)

That's what I love about going into the store; so many things I want but don't need but get anyways, haha

So being on this cosmetics/beauty buying phase, I went straight past the rows of delicious Hi-Chew candy, cute lunch boxes, animal shaped sponges and decorated chopsticks and rooted myself in the beauty section!

I know that some people on Youtube were doing reviews and hauls on some of the products, so I think that since a lot of people don't really have a lot of videos up about some of these, I might as well go ahead and do so!

• Cosmetic Wipes ( decent)
• Cotton pads (They feel really smooth and nice, I like them a lot! Comes in a pack of 150)
• Mirror
• Perfume atomizers -Love these, really good quality and have very good spray nozzles, I got them in the 12 mL and 5 mL sizes
• Mini Eyelash Curler- It's about 1/4 of the size of a normal eyelash curler; I really liked the full sized one and decided to try this out. Good for getting into the inner lashes and doing touch ups
• Nail Cutter- I thought this was really cute; I don't need another nail cutter but the way this was made is very convenient and great for travel. I'll put up pictures of this one along with the perfume atomizers and eyelash curler
• Brow pencils and brush- both of these are retractable; so far, I like both of them. The brow pencil gives off a nice color to compliment those of us with black or very dark brown hair. It's not a red-toned dark brown, it's a cool toned dark grey color that I've been looking for. Seems to last pretty long as well. The brush is a bit flimsy, but usable.
• Brow powder-Comes in two shades, a black and a dark grey. I like this one just as much as I like the pencil, looks a bit more natural and definitely easier to blend than the pencil and being a powder, it's easier to fix mistakes.

First post!

I'm not so sure as to why I'm doing this; maybe it's complete boredom or just my newfound love of reading blogs. Whatever my unknown reason may be, I made one. I'm pretty sure people aren't going to read any of this, but I'm thinking that this would be good for me and how I grow as a person; I'd have something to look back to (seeing as I don't write in a journal, etc etc) and take a look at my interests and how it would eventually come to shape the person I may or may not strive to become at the moment. Anywho!

It's winter break and classes don't start for another week!

Maybe this will be another project to add to my growing list of things to do to keep myself in that "productive" mind set?
